FAQ
Here are the answers to some of our most asked questions.
How do I get started?
You may call us or contact us by filling out the Contact Us form. We’ll get back to you promptly. If you don’t have any questions, and are ready to schedule your first pet sitting appointment, you may jump right in and register by clicking on the “Request a free consultation” tab at the top. Once completed, we will get back to you as soon as possible to learn more about your pet’s needs and schedule a free consultation.
Why should I hire you as my pet sitter?
Well, that all depends on what you are looking for in a pet sitter. If you are looking for someone to come in, let the dogs out to go potty, put some food down, and then leave, we are not the right pet sitters for you. Here at Kings & Queens Pet Sitting we learn as much about your fur kids as possible and then help you customize a service to fit their needs. Our visits aren’t timed, this ensures every single one of your babies gets one on one attention and are content and tired when we leave. KQPS is experienced, trustworthy, and extremely reliable. Once you sign up with us we have a team ready to go when you need us. Punctuality is very important to us and unlike a lot of other pet sitters that have 2 hour windows we have a 30 minute window on either side of your specified time in case of an emergency or an unexpected delay occurs. We have back up plans for our back up plans, so you are never without reliable pet care. Our clients are our extended family and we will bend over backwards to accommodate them. KQPS carries out the responsibilities assigned to us in a caring, responsible manner and we have plenty of referrals and reviews to back it up. We have been in business since 2008, we are insured, bonded, certified in pet first aid, and animal behavior. Are you the right fit for us? Contact us today to find out!
What if I have never used a pet sitter before?
In home pet sitting isn’t new, but it is starting to gain traction as more and more people have higher standards for their pets. We recommend a consultation for first time clients. This gives you the chance to meet us and lets us assess your pets and make sure everyone is a good fit. If you have fearful pets and you are unsure if they will be comfortable please mention that on the phone prior to our consultation. We have years of experience with working with fearful pets and have had wonderful success getting pets to warm up to us.
Can I get pictures or texts while I am gone?
We love to send pictures to you! We have an awesome app for our clients that updates them after each visit. We always want to make sure you know what is going on back at home, so you can relax and enjoy your time away!
What does professional really mean?
To us professional means being punctual, responsible, honest, caring, experienced, and knowledgeable. We promise to do our very best, every time and provide quality services. We make it our priority to ensure our clients are 100% satisfied with service, our staff has access to continued education and the tools to succeed, and to be involved in our community as much as we can.
Do you have black-out dates?
It is very rare for us to be 100% booked. If one of our sitters is out due to illness, emergency or vacation, one of the other team members will take over his/her responsibilities. If this happens, you can rest assured that all of our employees are well trained and you will know who will be visiting your babies if your usual sitter is unavailable. All pet sitters are background checked, insured and bonded, and certified in pet first aid. We train our employees to maintain consistency, so no matter who visits your babies we can guarantee the same exceptional care.
What if I don’t make it back from my trip on time?
We require you notify us upon your return. If we don’t hear from you, we call you. If we still don’t hear from you, we contact your emergency contact you have listed, and if we cannot get a hold of anyone we continue our services until you return. The pets ALWAYS come first.
Do you bring your children to pet sitting assignments in my home?
No. We love children, but our focused attention is always on your pets while we are in your home. Children may unintentionally add liability and we would never subject our clients to the variety of risks associated with having children in your home and around your pets (i.e. getting bit, leaving doors open/pets escaping, etc.). KQPS staff will always be the only one in your home.
How much advance notice do you need?
We prefer at least 3 days notice, but in an emergency situation, we will aim to meet with you or visit your pet immediately. The free consultation is an absolute requirement before we can do our first pet sitting visit. At the consultation we meet with you to discuss your specific needs, meet your pet(s) and take care of logistics such as the key exchange and contract signing. Once you are established we have been known to make trips within an hour of making an appointment.
Please note: During holiday periods short notice service may be unavailable or subject to additional fees.
Can you provide references?
We come with many references from satisfied clients. Check out our Testimonials page, see our photo gallery of pet clients, check Angie’s List, or our Facebook page to see fundraising events we hold throughout the year!
What if my property or pet is damaged (injured)?
We are covered through Travelers Insurance. Please contact our office for proof of insurance.
